Please share your expansion plans.

We have a retail-based operation and best way to grow and expand is through innovative applications. That’s what we strive to do and hence invest in the best technology that is flexible and versatile, and one which helps us develop newer applications. That’s how we have grown. Our retail space in Andheri is a one-stop shop for all POD solutions. Be it in any media or any format.

What were the reasons to invest in Xerox 1000?

For its excellent print quality and speed. The advantage of this machine is its duty cycle and capability to run continuous jobs. As mentioned earlier, the beauty is its flexibility with different media without any compromise on productivity or quality.

Why did you make the purchase?

To improve productivity; do more in less time. To innovate with new applications and offer better quality solutions to our customers.

Did you look at other similar systems?

Yes, we evaluated the Canon7011VP and KM 1100/1080.

What features did you particularly like?

There are many features that helped us finalise the machine. Its power saving features, which is the least in the under 100ppm category; its duplex printing capability on 350gsm paper, its speed, the seamless IBT belt and a very novel fuser model, are some of them. Plus it offers a number of upgrade options, too.

What kind of jobs will be printed on it?

It will print jobs like brochure, pamphlets, visiting cards, posters, danglers, menu cards, books, photo albums. We are also looking at some short-run packaging applications.

Is there anything you wish it had that is doesn’t?

The lag of two to three minutes while printing different size of media (120 gsm – 200 gsm).

How will the new investment boost your production and business?

We are expecting to print specialised jobs like packaging visual aids especially for pharma companies using the machine’s capability to print on 350gsm media. We foresee high usage of Kantex and few other types of texture media, and with it we expect our visiting cards and personalised calendars business to double.

What is your expected growth after new investment and what about return on investment (ROI)?

With faster turnaround time in execution of jobs and delivery, we are expecting a minimum business growth of 25%-30%.

Were there any difficulties during the installations or after?

No really. We are satisfied and happy with the pre- and post-sales.

Who do you think the system is right for?

For a printing house with high volume and demand for a variety of jobs on different media.

Under what circumstances would you buy another?

Whenever we wish to upgrade or explore additional machine in case increased demand from our customers for specific jobs, new innovation, or technological shift.
