Chennai-based Christ Computers has started its production on Xerox 1000 digital printing press. This is the second printing press from Xerox for Christ and they already house a Xerox DC5000 which has been installed in 2007.
John Christopher, proprietor, Christ Computers, said, “Commercial printing is shifting to digital printing and our production demand is increasing day-by-day. As a result, we required a high speed and high quality production engine. We decided to go with Xerox since we have hands on experience with it.”
“This digital printing press is suitable to print on variety of media like textured and others. The quality of production is good and printing of higher gsm sheets is also possible," added Christopher.
Christ Computers is a two decade old company which provides short run and variable data printing (VDP) to the publishers and offset printers in the city, and caters to the tourism, educational and hospitality industry.
Christopher also has plans to open printing outlets in Chennai and other cities of the state. Along with its facilities in the city, the company is also planning to venture in to online orders. "With the help of online ordering, the customers will have easy of ordering and quick delivery of jobs," added Christopher.
The digital printing company operates in a 1,200 sq/ft for 12-hours a day and employs a staff of eight. The company scored a turnover of more than Rs one crore in last financial year and is targetting to achieve more this year.
